Damn looks good, I also had a hell of a time with my UCAs. I think it was harder to put the damn bolt back in & hold the UCA at the right angle at the same time than to beat and cut my inner fender, but it came out nice.

Exact same prob. 2am and i give up till morn. Took front passenger side apart and assembled w/ icon co, LR UCA. Had no prob with anything exept i cant get the castle nut on the ball joint taper far enough to get the hole showing for cotter pin. Needs to be torqued 45 ft lbs. I used the impact wrench and it goes but not enough. Any tips would be great. Pulling hair out. I'm soo close. __________________I'm thinking big pipe on ratchet but dont want to mess it up. Is the ball joint spinning? Have you exceeded 45 ft-lbs already, that isn't much really?

Doesnt seem to be. I think if it was spinning it would move easily. I'm putting alot on it and getting little bits at a time. I backed it all the way off a few times to make sure the threads arent screwed up. Seems like you need a press to seat it.

I'd call SPC. I've done 2 sets now, never had problem like that.

Also check the part numbers on everything, make sure you didn't get ball joints for a different application.

Adjustment range: Camber ±2.00 degree Caster 0.0 degree to +4.00 degree
    Installation time: .8 hr/side
Required: 25470, 25480 - includes Left and Right arms 1 per axle
    Required: 25472, 25482 - includes 1 right arm ONLY 1 per axle
    Required: 25473, 25483 - includes 1 left arm ONLY 1 per axle

    25470, 25472 & 25473 Applications
    Toyota 4x4: 2005 & Up Tacoma
    Toyota 4x2: 2005 & Up PreRunner

    25480, 25482 & 25483 Applications
    Toyota 4x4: 2007 & Up FJ, 2003 & Up 4Runner
    Toyota 4x2: 2003 & Up 4Runner

    Patent No. US 7,513,514 B1

My new ball joints are stamped with the # 25480 which i see is a number applied to FJ's and 4 Runners. My Right arm are stamped 25470, which jives. I think. My Left arm is stamped 25475. A number not even listed. The quality of the welds and finish on the arms is also noticably different, looking at them side by side. I e-mailed Metal Tech 4x4 and also SPC. I think the ball joints where for the FJ/4Runner. Will see. Maybe i should have checked this before trying to install

Ball joints stamped with 25480118, as seen in photos are for FJ's and 4Runners. The correct ones are 25470118. Just got off the phone with SPC. Waiting to here back from Metal Tech 4x4. Just an fyi.

Hey knine00, i know you stated you got them in but they are the wrong ball joints. You should'nt have had to struggle with them at all.

Actually you can struggle with the correct balljoints. If you don't apply load between the ball joint and spindle or "seat" it, the ball joint will spin as you try to tighten the nut.
