Question Thoughts on suspension lifts?

I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma 2wd Prerunner. I want to put a 3 inch suspension lift on it, but I dont want to make any costly/ rookie mistakes. The most action my truck sees are desert or forest roads to go shooting or fishing. Does anybody have recomendations, experience, any knowledge in the area? Im all ears. Thanks

all you need is an Old Man Emu setup, only gives you a little over 2 inches though
