lifts for 2WD?

Hey all,

Newbie to this forum- I recently acquired a '02 2WD xtracab Tacoma.. and I was looking into lift kits, not because I want to take it offroad, but because I am a tall guy and hate getting in such a low-slung truck. I'm sure that lift kits are 99% for 4WD but wanted to ask some questions about whether it's possible (or even a good idea) for 2WD tacomas. I say this with the realization that I could be a complete dumbass for even bringing up the idea, apologies if so..

Was looking at that great sticky about pro's and con's of the various lift options and was thinking about 2" blocks and extended shackles for the rear.. does this work? This would be in conjunction with a good option for the front.. I was initially thinking spacers for the front but have read that people who have gone this route have regretted doing so.

We kinda gotta know, if your uncertain go out to your truck and count. Lift options for a 5 lug are extremely different than lift options for a 6 lug.

Goodluck, nothing wrong with lifting a 2wd. It looks better, improves off road ability and allows you to run larger tires.

Yes- 5 lug, definitely. Sorry I wasn't clear.

From what I read, the 5 lug 2WD are some of the lowest slung Tacomas.
