Another noob question about shocks

Hello everyone. I have read many of ther post under the suspension section, including the sticky's and this: http://www.bilsteinus.com/fileadmin/user_upload/user_upload_us/pdfs/Bil_LevShks_WebArticle.pdf

But now I am a bit confused. I just had Michelin LTX MS 2's on my 06 Taco and it is quieter and smoother, but it seems I feel every bump in the road. I am looking for a smoother ride, but do not care about lowering or raising the truck. This one does not go off-road.

I know this is a truck and not a Mercedes, but I am just looking for a slightly smoother ride. Maybe I am in the wrong forum? Just need some advice from you all.

The 5100's get great reviews all the time on TW you should be quite pleased with them...

 

Have you checked your air pressure? No shop is going to chalk test and dial in the pressure like a owner should. I would suggest starting there first. Also what load rating are your new tires?

 

They are brand new Michelin ATX MS 2's with Nitrogin, 265\70\16's. 35 psi.

 

That does not answer anything I asked.

I think you will be pleased with either Bistein 4600s or 5100s for your intended use. The chalk test on your tires has you draw a line across the tread of your tire and drive a short distnce to see if the chalk wears off evenly. Wear in the center only would indicate over pressure. Drop the pressure slightly and repeat the test. This gives you the best tire pressure for "your" truck, individualized for it's weight.
