:notsure: I think he is still trying to install the bushing so, maybe the bolt that he was using to push it though stripped. If that's the case, cut the bolt head off with sawzal or better yet, angle grinder with cut off wheel.

Got it. The bolt holding in t he uca was stuck. I just ended up twisting it until it came out, then put it in from the top. That was an ordeal but it's done now. I need a beer...or six

You should have had 6 before you even started working on the truck.

Looks like I'll be ordering some of these here shortly.

I didn't see this in the thread so I'll post this here. It appears the two different control arm numbers are for the different generations of tacomas, you just have to know which is which.

    What I asked SPC
Their response, which was very helpful

Thanks for the info. We did talk about the two part numbers a few posts back.

Well... new bushings, installed exactly to spec, torn again. I think I got replacement arms in like Nov. If/when they develop play I guess I'll call SPC and ask them for spec ride bushings this time, they took care of me last time.

New bushings being what? Just newer than your last set or the new and improved bushings?

I bought their arms like the december before last. Last November they were shot. Play in the BJs and in the bushings, they were torn to hell. SPC took care of it to my satisfaction. Sent me whole new arms and I sent the old ones back. I made sure I installed exact to spec. They had re-designed a few things. BJ boot should fix the reason I developed play, thought they had a new bushing design as well.

Noticed the other day there are tears in the new ones. I don't believe they're spec-ride bushings. No play yet fortunately, still doesn't sit well with me and I'm sure they'll crap out before too long. Which sucks because they don't have very many miles and I haven't wheeled as hard as I had on the last set.

I'm not bashing SPC, they took care of me. I just hope they take care of me again. If not looks like I'll have to just suck it up and order the bushings myself.

Just want to give everybody a heads up. I ordered some LR uca's last week from Fat Bobs garage. The parts were directly from SPC Performance and lucky me they have the new spec ride bushings in them. They are pretty good. Install was pretty straight forward. Hopefully everone who orders the LR uca will get these from now on

I know they show that no grease is needed on these new ones but what if they start squeaking?

My current one have less than 10,000 miles on them and the drivers side bushings are torn and shot. Any ideas why? I did grease them with white lithium grease...

If it came down to it, which I doubt, you could take the metal sleeve out and grease them. Mine are a squick free. Have a bunch of miles on them already.

So, you have the old style bushings I take it? More than likely, when they were installed, the bushing long bolt was torqued down while up on stands? That is the most common problem. It will prematurely degrade the bushings. Call SPC.... Great bunch of people to deal with.

Thank you. I have the new ones and will install today. And yes I did torque them while in the air. Then I loosened and re-tightened about a month later on the ground...

That's right. I forgot we conversed about this in the beginning of the thread. Good luck with the install.

The directions they send never mentions the grease they send... when and where does that go?

It goes on the metal sleeve before you insert it into the bushing.
