Helpers would do exactly what they say they are, Helpers. 1200lbs might not be bad for the overall weight but it does depend where that weight is placed. If it's only 12-100lb bags of feed and everything is axle-aft, that's a problem.
I drive doubles for FedEx, We know the weight we can haul but you never really know where that weight is on a sealed trailer. It may say 20,000 lbs in the box, 5000 could be mid trailer forward and the other 15,000 could be right over the axle. Once you start bouncing and swaying....you know it's not spread out. All seat of the pants stuff.
Try loading 1/2 (if you already don't) forward of the axle, a 1/4 of it over the axle and the remaining 1/4 close to the tailgate.
Seeing an overloaded pick-up scares me more than anything I can encounter on the highway.
