Need your opinions on my Rear Leafs

So here's some photos that I just took:









I wish I could do better than these, but I am at work. Anyhow, I've been reading up and saving up for a lift, but I'm thinking that these are not in good shape and that an AAL won't help me, and it's time for new packs.

Can you guys help shed some light on this for me? I know there's a few options for new leaf packs, OME/Dakars for one, but any other suggestions would be wonderful.

• I don't (currently) offroad at all, but always a possibility
• I do drive 50+ miles a day
• I do want the look of a lift - DCLB sit way too low proportional to their length
• I don't haul much - maybe a few hundred pounds a few times a summer
• I am a newb when it comes to suspenstions (it's taken me a year of trolling the suspension forum to wrap my head around adding Billies)

 

I'm going to go All-Pro standard leafs when my time comes.

Nvm..you have stock suspension. Search our local craigslist to see if anyone is selling their OEM leaf pack. There's always a chance.

 

I did... couldn't find any. I'm strongly considering a complete OME setup - I can get it from a local 4WP store for just over $1000

I just hope a check is sitting in the mailbox at home

I would stay away from 4wp.

OME will be a bit rough but is a great lift. If the 06' standard non-tsb pack has been treating you good and your happy for this long just keep looking for a leaf pack locally. I know there has to be a ton of WC guys with them.

 

Well I did look into the 4WP setup - turns out it's from ARB and their kit on their website is quoting the old N140S/N182 shocks, so based on what I've seen here that's not something I should get... Might have to talk with YodaDan at Wheeler's and figure out shipping costs... maybe someone nice enough from down near Grants Pass will let me know when they might be heading north to the Portland area and would be willing transport for me

 

I was in the same boat. Saggy rear and was on the fence about AAL or replacing the springs all together. OME was the route I was going from the beginning though. I did a TON of shopping around and ended up going the full OME kit from Toytec...ended up being $1310 out the door.
That was for 885s with Taco lean spacer assembled, Dakars, Shims, CB kit, no diff drop, and shipping to my door.
Toytec even installed the center pin collar on my Dakars, which is needed when running shims.
Now I just gotta find some time to get everything installed and save $$ for tires.

Mine look like that with a 1 1/2" AAL!!!
I have a 2" but I don't know if it will help.
May need a good set of springs.
I do carry some stuff in the bed so..............

That is pretty much my rear end on my 06 except mine are frowning a lot. I am getting some bilstein 5100 with 885x coils up front in a month and in the process the spring shop is going to build me some custom leafs. I have a canopy and haul tools around so I am stoked on the prospect of no more frown

 

Dakars are kinda rough for every day use. I like to carry a lot of crap and wheel so I went dakars. Think I'd get a softer leaf pack if I just wanted a lift.

Likely gonna go with the Dakars, $400 from wheeler's doesn't seem too bad.

If you've got a suggestion for softer rears but still giving me about 2" in the back and close to the $400 price range, I'm all ears.

Same $400 price tag.... where to get them? 11 leafs, 3" lift... your expectations for possible sag with the canopy on 6 months out of the year?

I think I would lean towards the Dakars for sustained weight like a cap

Looks like lift is on hold until monday... just finished talking with one of our esteemed vendors who's busy getting independent certifications for a new lift kit - apparently better tuned for on-road driving and very similar to our favorite OME/Dakar (even comes from Austraila as well), and cheaper enough that with shipping it's still less that the OME.

Supposed to get confirmation from him around monday on how the certifications went, but F_____W___ said he's got the kits in stock, ready to ship.

Could be a very exciting Monday
