Impressive... Problem is... How much did you spend?? Isn't the Ultimate lift kit $1160 w/o UCA's?

Thanks.. I have to wait some time anyways.. My overtime is paying for this.. and the next overtime shift I'm picking up that'll pay for this is gonna be the 11th.. after that, game on!

Everyone has been extremely helpful.. I was initially expecting someone to link me to the million and a half threads started regarding lifts, or someone to tell me to use the search function, the ever-so-clever "let me google that for you" link is always a cool one... but yea, thanks for all the help guys and none of the crap... :D

If you are concerned about alignment, just go without the new UCAs for now. Just understand that the shop may not be able to get them all the way into spec so you may have to get them later. I know people who go without them and are happy as a clam. Personally, I picked up a set of LR UCAs for mainly peace of mind.

And don't forget.... every situation is different. The items you purchase & install may not have the same results on your truck as they do on other trucks. And, you may or may not run into different issues after the install. Installing lifts is NEVER cut & dry (unless you are extremely lucky).

And....its an evolution.... In a few years, you might grow bored with the current setup and want something different. I think EVERYONE on this forum has gone through an evolution..... (tacoma diseased).

    So don't sweat it......

FWIW, I ran my lift without UCA's for awhile. The difference at first isn't very noticeable, highway speeds make your truck kinda wander, but after I installed my LR UCA's... WOW. I had forgot my steering could bee that stiff and responsive.

If you get the 3" OME kit you can not install the top plates and be at 2.5" and maybe get away w/o the UCA's for a little bit. When you can afford them you can pop the top plates in for the 3". OZ is running his at 2.5" with the LR UCA's but at 2.5 you may be ok for a little bit with the stock UCA. That's a good price on the OME kit. Mine was $1382 shipped with the dakars. I bought the LR UCA's on the last GB for $375. Hold out and get the UCA's when the next group buy comes up. Install it yourself with some of the TW guys. At 2.5" your tires will look better than going to 3" and them looking too small for the lift. Watch some of the places that show the price lower but shipping is higher. I looked at two places, one wanted $175 for shipping and the other that I bought from only charged $75.

Of course in a perfect world I would say do it all at once , but in your case , with the cap especially , I would say the rear leafs are more important .

If you do the OME 885 set up , without top plate spacers , you will get right around 2 1/2" on a DCLB , usually you can get by with the stock UCA's at that height

Thanks for the input guys... so far, I think the plan is going to be front shocks, coils, UCA's and an AAL for now. What do you guys think of package with the top plate spacer option, the 1.5" AAL, and a set of LR UCA's from Fat Bob's?

That'll keep me right in budget, without install, but it seems HIATT1991 and MANWITHOUTAPLAN is gonna help a brutha out.. I might even be able to throw in a couple bucks to have them put together the shocks/coils/spacer.. do u guys think its worth it?

3" Lift OME 885's with a top plate spacer in front, Toytec AAL in rear, OME Nitrochargers, DWreck/FamousFab bolt on sliders, 255/85R16' KM2's
Go with the complete OME setup and do UCAs later. If you are worried about your tire warranty, tell the alignment shop to get your toe and camber measurements in spec, and do the best they can with the caster. Toe and camber being out of spec will cause tire wear, caster out of spec will not. A good alignment shop should be able to get your toe and camber in spec with that lift and stock UCAs.

I got the preloaded coilovers...it kept me from having to rent or find a press...and kept the install very simple......

Are you talking about the same package adding the option of assembling the front shocks/coils w/new bushings? Can they do that??

I say do the front with UCAs so alignment will be good, do AALs out back for now & save for better leaf pack later. I have some Alcan 2" AALs That I never used on the 05 I'd be willin to part with since I won't be lifting the 08. If that can help out where you can go ahead with UCAs and save on fronts without the AALs in the kit let me know..........

Isn't this setup like $1160?? If I add LR UCA's to that, it'd be 1560!! Too rich for my blood..

    Thanks for the info!

Did have coils in that? or were they stock coils? Also, I'm assuming no UCA's ? This might be a way for me to get started...

Wow.. Thanks for the help. Will the Alcan 2" work with my '12? I bought it with the TSB done on it already. I definitely think if I'm gonna do something I need the UCA's I don't want the headache later, and I'm sure the wifey isn't gonna appreciate me spending so much on a lift only to have it jack something else up.. I can hear it now.. [IMG] "you spent how much on this lift thingy and now look at what it did!!!"

So ultimately my thing is I gotta "buy once, cry once." Problem is, my budget is crappy.. Fortunately you guys have been great giving me some awesome suggestions about how to go about getting a decent lift without sacrificing too much.. Thanks guys!
