Even though the delivery is a bit less than complimentary, I completely agree. There's tons of valuable information here, but it's just so damn redundant. Most folks on here are very enabling toward newbies, holding their hands through every step of the process. It's admirable that so many people are willing to help, but the value of doing your own research gets lost in the shuffle. The search function really does work, and is only a few mouse clicks away.

On topic: abandon the idea about blocks, and go with the 5100's all the way around, combined with an add a leaf in the rear. That'll fit within your budget and be a much better choice than blocks.

Geez dude... you dont need to hold his hand.... There is so much value in letting op find his own answer, just let him search, it's only a few mouse clicks away

Ummm...speaking of redundant. Kind of ironic.

How fucking hard is it to see that the OP has 1 post on this forum ? Maybe his first post on any forum ever , shoot him a link to the Lift FAQ sticky or whatever to get him started is just as easy as posting " search " .

Or even easier , don't post

the truth in this post is that you will learn stuff by searching yourself but if you dont like his post title dont open it. but i agree with searching first. you can learn so much more than everyones opinion.

I almost left just to avoid the wankers, why post if we're not answering the question. . .

Hey OP, don't mind the tards. You will find that a lot of people will encourage you to do a lot of research on your own before asking certain questions. They mean well, they're just not the best at portraying it.

Considering the fact that you do a significant amount of off roading I would persuade you to save enough to get the full OME lift. 5100s are capable and MANY people on here run them off road a lot but I think you'll find that a full coil over, meaning a new shock AND coil will be a better choice than setting 5100s really high.

Search for guys asking what coils to match with their 5100s and you'll see a lot of people weren't entirely happy with just the shock and ended up spending more because they didn't just do it right the first time.

    Hope that helps

Wow, you mad? Relax, lol. I'm offering the same opinion as Volcom. You guys are quick to jump people's shit, when we're arguably offering advice that's of similar value.

No worries, I'll bow out at this point, and you can continue to answer the same EXACT questions over, and over, and over, and over again.

    Not mad at all .

Give the noobs at least one break , maybe the guy doesn't even know the search function exists , by the time he has submitted the OP , his thread has already been added to the rest , so instead of going full Derp with it maybe those that post could be productive .

    If you don't want to post , don't . Pretty simple .

It's a great question man. It's unfortunate you have to sift through all that to find the good answers but they're there. Searching stuff on your own will help you not get flamed here but if you have an honest question, shoot. Dbags will be dbags

I'm a newbie too and this is exactly what I was afraid of starting.. The search function is great but the problem is there is a TON a info out there and can take you days to find something that you really like.

I went with the 5100s up front @ 2.5", got the TSB and a Toytec 1.5" AAL.. The rear sits a little higher but I love the stance and have no regrets! (and for way cheaper than your $850 budget!!):D

OP, there is a pretty kick ass lift thread at TTORA.com. sorry for no link, on my mobile telephone/laptop. And I'm kinda lazy. I asked the same questions, with basically shitty responses at first, but most people understand that it is in fact much quicker to just answer the question. I have a 1st Gen, and I purchased my lift from wabfaboffroad.org. I don't do much offroading now, hope to do more in the future. So I went with Eibach springs and bilstein 5100's all the way around. Also, the kit came with Allpro AAL'S. I paid $1000, and everything I need comes completely assembled, ready to install with differential drop and extended brake lines. To me it was worth the extra cash for it to come shipped already assembled. I steered away from a spacer lift simply for the way it stiffens the ride. ( call me a sissy, but my 1st Gen rides stiff enough). It truly is beneficial to search, as you get to see alot of opinions, and problems people ran into with their lift. Ie: sag/ ride characteristics/ rubbing/shit products.
