Does anyone make an aftermarket spindle for 2nd gen 4X4 tacoma? Or is the only option for increased strength the Total chaos spindle gussets?

SDHQ makes them if I'm not mistaken.

Long Travel plans for the future, going back to 35" tires this summer, probably mud grapplers. Putting out 218 rwhp, and 245 ft/lb of torque.
What about a heavier duty whole hub assembly and spindle for a 2wd 6 lug 2nd gen? The factory setup cant handle the stress of deep offset offroad wheels, well on my truck at least, and i'd sure love to be able to have bigger wheels.

Do you know if it is a completely new spindle or just steel plating welded on to factory spindle?

SDHQ is in Development of a fully boxed spindle for 4x4 applications, there are a few pics floating around of them. Only current option is a gussets, and the route im going tomorrow with new LCA's

Its a plated OEM spindle but done the right way. Normal MIG welding of a spindle gusset to the case spindle will cause the spindle itself to become more brittle and thus more likely to break instead of bend under extreme circumstances.

Our gussets are not only more extensive but are TIG welded and can be set up for either Single or Double sheer steering.

I'm curious what kind of filler rod you use when welding to the cast spindle. And any other special procedures you take for ensuring or trying to ensure the cast spindle isn't made more brittle from the welding heat. Personally, I'm not sure anything will be better than a new cast piece .. cast with a different mold. Unless of course someone made a forged billet piece, but that would be crazy expensive .. CNC'd from a single, solid billet of steel.

Our spindles are not cast, they are in fact forged
