Toytec lift kit and Fox or Bilstein shocks

Hey,

Looking to get some input to see what type of lift kit and shocks will suit my Taco best. Decided to go with a 2.5" lift and was considering Fox or Bilstein shocks. Any input would be appreciated. Also a nice skid plate!!!

 

If you look around the forums you will see alot of info pertaining to both these setups. Billsteins= entry levelish(above spavers atleast) lift with decent offroad capabiltiy. FOX=way more cash......and def better offroad capabilty. If you plan on going a little nuts.....sounds like you are if you want a skid plate then spend and get the fox. Especially if you intend to go fast over shit off road. Billsteins for a nice lift that can handle offroading at a slower speed.

Also......you can custom valve the fox i believe for any application.

BUDGET?

Thanks guys appreciate the info. See a lot of people going with Toytec 3" spacer lift kit and was wondering if anybody is familar with the build and any considerations. Also, see there aren't that many Fox Venders and the only one found was in Texas. Therefore, any recommends on something comparable to Fox as far as Coilovers and shocks. Ton of info to sort through and just trying to decipher what the best option would be. Budget is around 3 grand give or take a few hundred, for lift and shocks minus installation. Also, my Taco is a manuel and wondering if anybody has installed the TRD short shifter and was a worth the Cash!!

 

If your budget is $3k, don't even consider the spacer lifts. Check out Downsouth Motorsports for Fox or Icon stuff. They have great customer service.

For a short throw shifter, check out URD (Underdog Racing Development). He might be in your neck of the woods (Huntington, MD is their HQ) and they sell great aftermarket performance goodies for your Tacoma.

Appreciate all the info and will give URD & Downsouth Motorsports a shout. Nice to know that URD is in my backyard because I need to research a few upgrades for my 6 speed manual. Will begin to post pics as the old Taco build gets on it's way.
