Donahoe Racing Suspension

Looking to lift the Tacoma and was curious whats out there besides the common Toytech stuff everyone does. For not much more, it looks like an actual racing suspension that can put up to some offroad abuse can be had. Anyone have any experiance with Donahoe?

The review posted above is great and gives a step by step installation procedure that could be used by some to install toytech coilovers even.

Let me know what you think...

Donahoe is no more. Those products are now made by Icon. Other good companies are Fox, King, Sway a Way, and Camburg. If you plan on beating on it I would highly recommend one of the brands I mentioned.

how much are the kings? You can get a complete coilover setup or just the shock and place within a toytech coilover?

Also do the king shocks have a resivior?

I have had the chance to run many different off road suspensions on my off road truck.

First was the OME setup. Nice stuff.

Next was the Sway-a-Way. Not very good at all. The biggest complaints where real cheap powder coating on the springs, it started blowing off and the springs rusted up really badly. Next was the spring seat collars. They corroded to the shock bodies and made adjusting to compensate for spring sag almost impossible. Lastly, they would slam down badly when I came off of obsticals like stumps and rocks. Many friends running them had repeated seal failures and blown out lower hiems. Just not good quality stuff.

Next was the Donaho Racing (now Icon). This stuff was absolutely top notch, high quality stuff. Very smooth off road and did not have that harsh slamming down as I came off of obsticals. I highly recommend products from this company.

Finally, I made the move to the Total Chaos long travel setup with Fox coil overs. Like WOW!! Butter off road and plenty of droop to keep the tires gripping.
