Simple pre-load spring question

    I've been going back and forth on upgrading my suspension for about a month. I'm just nervous about tinkering with a new 2012 truck with less than 2500 miles on it. Anyway, when I finally do level the truck, either with a basic 5100 set at all four corners, or something like a Toytec ultimate suspension package, I have a simple function question:

    Does preloading a spring (as on a 5100 set to other than 0) reduce front suspension travel and if so is this a problem?

    Thanks from a newbie learning how this stuff works.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    it doesnt reduce the travel, but rather change how much travel you have in the up motion, and downward motion. For example (figuring the stock travel is 8"), if you lift 2", you now have about 2" down travel, but 6" in upward travel, thus keeping the same 8" total.
