Hose clamp or special cv boot clamp?????

Does any one know if u can just replace the clamp on a cv boot with a hose clamp and does that throw it if off balance ????

 

You should be able to use a hose clamp - if you can find one big enough.

It might depend on the CV boot that you're installing. If the CV boot has a lip large enough to accomodate the width of the hose clamp, then you should be good.

If not - then I'd find the proper clamp to fit in the lip.

Lip - meaning, the outter edges where the clamp goes.
