I've been reading their install instructions and both requires you to cut the cross menbor. Not sure if I want to hurt my baby like that...

? I was thinking about putting a 6" lift on my truck too ,but was wondering about the trucks computer. Would I have to take it to somebody to reconfigure it for the height and bigger tires?

any lift kit that size requires cutting the cross member and that goes for most trucks. it is to make room for the front differential to be lowered in its new position.

procomp and fabtech both make fine quality kits. you'll be just as strong as factory with either kit. and the procomp is a little cheaper.

Go with a 3"

Personally I would go with either Donahoe or camberg. They have great lifts, It is also all bolt on so you could do it yourself. 6" lifts are overkill in my book. Get a 3" Coil over system and you will not be disappointed. You can find either lifts at www.sdhqoffroad.com, They did all the work on my truck.
