Talking Purchase OME from Toytec Q???

So I want to lift my new 2012 DC LB 4x4 approximately 3". I need some help from you guys that know what your talking about when it comes to this, because I'm still pretty confused. I want to make sure everything I've read this past week fully sunk in and I get the right parts before I go further in debt.


OME Suspension lift kit
Front coil options: Med_885_coils (I have stock bumper)
Top plate spacers: Yes add top plate spacers
Rear Options: Complete rear OME CS047R springs with U bolts (For hauling/towing)
Front Diff drop kit: Yes 4X4
Add Rear shock stone guards (Pair): No
NEW! Assemble front shocks/coils with new bushings: Yes (cost less to install?)

Light Racing Upper Control Arms (05 & UP Tacoma)

Approximately 95% of my driving is on pavement. I dont/wont do any extreme off road driving. Just uneven hilly dirt/gravel/sand roads when hunting and camping. My questions are does this kit seem like a decent kit to get the 3 inches up front i want to be able to run bigger tires? Do I have to buy aftermarket rims as I would like to keep the stock 17" rims for now and just upgrade the tires to bigger duratracs. Do I need the front differential drop kit? If at a later date I decide to get an after market off road bumper, is it just as easy as changing the coils to the heavier duty ones or is there more too it? Do I need to buy the extended rear brake lines or the driveshaft carrier barring drop kit? Are these parts compatible with each other (this UCA will work with these coil overs)? Am I missing anything else I should buy with this stuff? Appreciate any input.

For what it's worth, I just came back from a off road bro shop in orange county and they only wanted to sell me icons which I know are pretty close to top of the line stuff...but it was $2600 out the door installed for just front coil overs and icons new non billet UCA. Im not going to be racing in the Baja 20000, hell I probably won't ever drive over a curb. I'm open to hear your opinions on this OME setup or anything else. Toytec ultimate lift with 5100s?

The OME products are an excellent quality choice. The list of components you have should be good for what you are wanting.

We do have a complete package deal on the site for the OME lift. And the Light Racing UCAs are a good choice to bring the Caster back up.

You will need 1.25" spidertrax spacers to keep your 17" rims and run larger tires. Youll also have to trim some plastic in your front wheel wells, depending on what size tire you run.

You could prolly skip the differential & carrier drop kit for now unless you have problems with vibrations afterwards.

If your never going offroad, you could also prolly skip the extended break lines.

Your fine with OME and LR UCA's.

You may want to get a swaybar relocate kit and a 3 deg shim for your dakars. Make sure you get the trim packer if you have them pre assembled.

Thank you, I didn't know about the 3 degree shim for the leafs or the trim packer, for the trim packer, I just need 1 only for the front driver side coil over right? Thanks.

Recently had my lift installed: 3" Toytec lift. Already had Bilstein 5100's up front. Now set at 0". Front coils were 884's which came with the lift. Also Add- A- Leaf from Toytec. Already had the TSB add-a-leaf install done in 2008. Completed the install with rear Bilstein 5100 shocks.
Truck sits just shy of 3". Tires are 265/75/16.
Regarding front 884 coils: I stayed with the 884's which are standard with the Toytec 3'' lift. I'm not planning on upgrading to a beefy, heavier bumper thus requiring 885 plus coils. Also purchased the Toytec brake line extended kit - adds additional 2".
Truck rides fantastic! Sturdy, firm, solid ride. No unusual vibrations, noises...etc. Last weekend I put 300 plus miles on it...mostly 4 wheel (nothing extreme or major flexing) and I'm very satisfied and happy with it.

Dealt with Wheeler's when looking at my lift. Called them up a couple times and asked tons of questions. Great technical support.

I went OME. Specifics are in my build thread.

Agree. Don't forget to get the collars for the center pins if you are going to run axle shims

Bought from Wheeler's on a couple different occasions. They were excellent each time and have made me a loyal customer.

Yes you only need 1 for the drivers side to compensate for "taco lean" caused by the driver, battery and gas tank all being on one side of the truck.

Youll need the center pin collars jb mentioned for the shims also. Thers a thread about it on here somewhere youll want to read, so search for that.

I wouldn't bother with the shims unless you see you need them afterwards. The only thing I installed with my OME lift was the carrier bearing drop. I don't have any vibrations. I'm running stock off road wheels with 285/75/16's. I have the spidertrax spacers but haven't put them on yet. I haven't really had the need to put them on yet. Before the truck does much offroad I will have them on there though. With the LR UCA's when they did the alignment it got rid of the rubbing on one side. Now I only rub at full lock on the passenger side.
