Question Is this normal for a factory UCA ball joint?

I was wondering if you think this is normal for the factory suspension? I was concerned about the light coat of grease/oil that appears to be emanating from the upper control arm ball joint / steering knuckle?

There appears to be no serviceable (grease-able) parts here?

your ball joint is fine.

it looks like its coming from somewhere else. if you look closely where the oil/grease/whatever is starts at, it stops right before going behind the brake rotor.. just something i noticed.

Degreaser and pressure washer, or brake clean. Clean all that shit off. See if it comes back and where it's coming from.

By the looks of it I wouldn't be concerned but if you really want to know ^

It probably is from the BJ but that's nothing to worry about.

Meh, good excuse to upgrade to uniball arms.

Or, if you just want it fixed, a press should make short work of it.

I will clean it up and recheck. It must be coming from the ball joint... Perhaps that rubber boot has a leak. Factory suspension is not covered by powertrain warranty so I'll keep an eye on it. I do plan to upgrade to OME suspension but not for two more years.

Thanks for taking a look.

Good advice about cleaning and seeing where the oil starts to come back from.

Hate it when BJs get messy...

lol

Even if it is a leaking BJ, doesn't mean it's bad, going bad, or that it will soon. Just keep an eye on it.
