DIY Front Diff Drop Kit

Has anyone made their own front diff drop kit? Seems like you could easily go to your local hardware store and get some longer bolts, a few grade 8 washers and skid plate bolts for about $5 and do this. I think I need a diff drop kit and most places want ~$40+ after shipping, seems a bit over priced for what it is.

More havoc occurs from installing the drop than leaving it off IIRC

Interesting, I never heard that before. Well the nice thing about a do it yourself kit is, you could do a 1/2 drop kit, and only drop the diff about 1/2 the distance that the off the shelf kits drop it, maybe giving you the best of both worlds.
