No spacers won't have an effect on CV angles...but you might with the rough ride.

How will spacers not affect the CV angles exactly?

They rotate the lower control arm down, which is connected to the spindle, which is connected to the CV's. So yes, they push the CV's down and give them a more severe angle.

OP, torn CV boots sometimes do happen with an 3" lift. It's just something you deal with. Try to make sure the fins aren't touching and the boots won't wear out too fast.

There is a tacoma running around here with a spacer lift and the cv angles look pretty much close to straight. However I thought about it after I posted and yeah it would effect the angle so there must be sometimg I am missing on that spacer lift I see. I know where it parks so I'm gonna check it out again.

I think that the bigger issue is how will it align.

Go to Toyteclifts.com Look for front differential drop kit.For $30.00 and a few hours it's cheap insurance. IMHO you might want to check out the OME lift ride will be better than just spacers alone.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
It will do more harm then good for Gen 2.

Will I be fine with a 2.25 inch spacer?

You will be "fine" either way. I have about 20k miles with mine lifted 3" and the boots show no signs of wear. When they tear just get replacements. Also dont do the diff drop. Even if it did correct the angles, I would rather have it higher off the gound. Its cheaper to repair a cv boot then a diff.

I have a 2 inch spacer in the front and the cv angle is pretty near straight and I find over bumps it can be harsher but this is my first truck so I don't know if it's just harsh because it's a truck vs a car or because of the spacers. Will be upgrading next year to ome and bilstein lift
