Hi and welcome.
I too am in the search for a lift for my truck. Use the search functions, tons and tons of good info. Iv'e been reading, trying to decide on my lift for weeks and still havent decided,,,though i do have it narrowed down to a couple. Also check out the 2nd gen builds page...these guys have some sharp rigs with good write ups. Good luck.

Ok that I have read before. My goal is to get new shocks coils and Dakar leafs. The ome lift I heard was good.
What happens to you cv boots when you lift?
Could you fix it?
What if I don't wheel? Could I get away with a spacer and add a leaf?
And them add billy 5100s later?

Ome is one of the lifts im seriously considering, seems like a very popular option. I don't think there is any negative effects on the cv's if you stay at 3" or under. I may be wrong, but im sure there will be plenty of folks with lifts that will chime in with their experiences.

I have spacers on my truck. If you don'wheel, spacers and blocks/add a leaf will be fine. The ride will stiffen up a bit, but not too bad.

Buy these http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...chaos-uca.html
then just get the dakars and rear shocks and you'll have one hell of a MT setup

I used to wheel but now I don't. Spacers just seem like the way to go for cheap. Could i get 33s with spacers?

Another good read...

http://www.camburg.com/news/read-thi...a-spacer-lift/

BTW, spacers cause the shocks to operate outside of their originally designed parameters.

Ok....no spacers. Lol. I'm considering ome or billies if I run billies at 2.5. Will I need new coils? And something to lift the back? Will 2.5 let me clear 285/75/16?

Some people dont need ucas set at 2.5 others do, its hit or miss really...... you can keep your stock coils but the ride will be stiffer since they will have preload on them...... you can run 285's with only 2.5 inches of lift but you will need to trim your fenders and maybe do the cab mount chop, but this also depends on the wheel offset you will run too....

I have! But instead of seaching through everything, i find it easier to ask and get a response as you can see it's so much faster.
