I would like to do the work myself as well but I couldn't find a reasonable guide for it. Are you just a mechanical genius or did you get help? Cause I know I'll need some...

Pulling the CV axles is very easy and within most people's scope. I have the service manuals, so I just fallowed the guide. Basically, pull your wheels, remove center dust cap, remove nut, swing hub assembly out of the way, and then pull the axle out (this will take some force). be mindful of the dust ring/seal on the inner side, you should be able to reuse it.

    Reverse to reinstall.

^I am at work and not near my manuals, so anyone that sees something I stated wrong or missed, feel free to chime in. Also, this may be differnet for a 2nd Gen, but I don't think so.

You can get a chilton or hanse from them. When I bought my truck, the guy gave me the service center manuals. I don't know what they cost, but they are completely worth it.

Maybe send Jorge@CamelbackToyota a message for a price on them, he is on here and ships all over.

$60 if you have the core in hand.... otherwise you pay the extra $50? and get that back when you return the core.

The cv SHAFT may be oem. But that's just the shaft. The joint is what you want to be OEM. The joint is the main wear item. The joint will not be oem in a remanufactured axle.
