But why? Why is that better? Pardon my ignorance, I'm from the 4runner world and I'm not familiar with leaf springs.

Do you ever load your truck , have a cap or tow ? or do you usually have an empty bed ?

I just went with the full ome kit from wheelers. Went with the 881 springs since I wanted as little lift as possible and have no plains for a bumper or winch.
Very happy with how it rides now.

Good questions, sorry I left out some important details. I don't plan to put a cap on the bed, nor do I plan to do any off road bumpers. I might tow something small from time to time but nothing too heavy and I do have access to full size trucks if needed so towing is not a priority. Mostly used for my daily driver, some light off roading will be done, but no crawling. I might add a skid plate under it eventually but not full armor. Most of the time the bed will be empty, I will also have a hitch mounted bike rack on it that weighs about 40 pounds so I don't think that will affect the rear suspension any.

Skip the Dakars and get a progressive 3 leaf AAL or a leaf pack that isn't designed for heavy loads then

Anyone got a trim packer laying around that can get me measurements id and od of the hole. I'm sure I can find a stainless thick washer that will do the same.

I struggled with this for a while, but ended up with the full OEM, dakars, and light racing UCAs.

Some people will say that the OME shocks are valved for the OME springs, so they will produce a better ride. This may or may not be true. Plenty of people say they have OME springs and billies and enjoy the ride. I decided on the full OME setup because I carry a lot of weight in my bed (easily 400 lbs...more during hunting season). The Dakars handle the weight well. The AAL would have sagged quickly and they don't ride as well as a new leaf pack. Also, if I had put billies in the rear I would have had to replace them with a longer shock, like OME, if I went with the Dakars later. The standard billies that you would use with an AAL are too short for a Dakar leaf pack.

Ultimately I felt the full OME was more suitable for my long term needs.

The one from wheeler's is 1.5 inch, would that put me nose high with the OME 885 springs up front? Does anyone make a 2 inch 3 leaf AAL?

You have 1 1/2 to 2" of rake stock no ?

I think you can leave the overload in and it would be 2". Someone else may be able to verify this.

Just measure the difference between your front and back right now then add the appropriate lifts you are looking at. Your suspension might have sagged some, so that is really the only way to tell for sure.

Seems like most people get 2.5 up front with the 885s, right? Not sure what the rake will look like with the new struts and springs. If the overload makes it a half inch higher, that would be great. Can anyone confirm?

You're not getting what I'm saying

885's will give you about 2 1/2" lift up front

If you have a 1 1/2" rake stock , then add 1 1/2" with an AAL you will still be 1/2" high in the rear

I got about 2.5" with my 885s. use the trim packer or 1/4" spacer on the driver's side. My trim packer didn't fully correct my lean.

You should have enough factoy rake that you won't be nose high. The extra 1/2 inch might help when towing or hauling something heavy. I hate being nose high when towing.

Didn't know they didn't come with it. I got the springs off a member here and a the struts from headstrong. I was thinking it just came with it.

It says in your profile you're lifted, 33'd, and murdered. So if you're already lifted what is on your truck now? as far as rear end goes?

I haven't even got the truck yet, but I'm going to do this stuff as soon as I get it. It'll be stock when I get it. So I should go with billies, 5800s, progressive aal? That'll be about $700 compared the full ome kit at over $1100.

Yeah. I work at the dealership, it's being traded in right now and I have first dibs on it. If I buy it I'm going to add the amount for the lift to the financing that's why I'm trying to figure out what to get.
