Yep, lots to figure out. I went straight for the LR UCA's with the 881's but others have kept the stock ones with no problems, they just give low caster. I switched to the 882's after the addition of the skids (bumper and skids only) but I think you could do it before. It might be slightly stiff until you add some more weight up front but it's a truck right :D

I installed medium springs (OME 2885) and Sport struts (OME9000) - Easy part.

I had to lower the Lower Control Arm (LCA) in order to remove the old strut and install the new application.

I cannot raise the LCA to reconnect the 2 bolts by the ball joint. I instead raise the entire truck.

I believe the new spring is preventing this. Any advice on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to recall using the spring compressors to assist a little at that point. But it's been a year and a half... Not going to be my problem when they swap everything over to my new frame and LCAs that come with it.

is your shock fully compressed when installing it?
what is the height of your spring prior to install?
The usual problem would be getting the shock through the
upper hole, not reattaching the lower control arm.

No, I don't think the shock is fully compressed.
Is that something that requires a special tool? Sorry, all this is a learning experience.
    Thank you.

I just put new ome 884s and dakars on my single cab and now I'm getting some serious vibes around 60mph. It seems to almost go away when I let off the gas. Does anyone have advice on where to start to solve this problem?

Drive shaft. I had the same issue after 884's and a 2"AAL on a RC.Mine does it around 59mph to 63mph. A couple of members here posted that they flipped the driveshaft on a RC and it cured it.
I've been meaning to do this, but I rarely drive 60mph around here. When I do I drive 64mph. I'll do it eventually.

Hmm. I wonder if shims would help? Couldn't hurt to flip the driveshaft first just to see. I had no problems with just an add a leaf. Maybe the dakars lifted it just a bit more causing the vibes

FWIW I have 2" AALs. Mine mellowed out some as the leafs settled. I'm planning on getting top plate spacers for the 884s and changing to Dakars in the back and going to a 255/85 this spring so I'm interested in your outcome with the vibe.

From what I've read dakars don't settle too much so we'll see. I may try to flip my driveshaft this weekend and see what happens. I'll be sure to post my findings.

This is for some with Dakars with Nitrochargers in the rear.

Do the Dakars take up all the extension of the shocks or do the shocks still have a little down travel left in them?

Question....I just purchased a full OME suspension kit :D and was just wondering what is a respectful price to pay to have it installed? I know that this is a general question but I don't want to get hosed.

I purchased, OME 885 Front Coil Springs, Nitro Charger Sport Front Shocks, Nitro charger Sport Rear Shocks, Light Racing Upper Control Arms, and Dakars. I am also getting the front coils pre-assembled with the 1/2" spacer and the 1/4" trim packer.

    Thoughts??

If you bought them assembled and have a moderate assortment of your own tools, you can easily do this install yourself in under a day.

I wouldn't want to pay a shop that has access to a lift more than 4 hours. Someone experienced with Tacomas could probably do it in 2.

Thanks man. I don't think I would be comfortable doing it myself. I will get some quotes from a couple reputable shops and see what the damage will be. Thanks.

I got 2 or 3 install quotes that ranged from 600 - 800(dealer). I ended up paying a friend less than half that and he said it took about 3 hours to complete.
