a few goodies here and there!
Gotcha. So I would want to set it back to zero and I would still have the same lift, just a better ride?

Yes you would want to set it to zero. I cant tell you much about the ride but i would assume it would be better. My 885s on OME nitrochargers ride very nice, more firm than stock. I cant conpare though because i never ran 5100s with stock coils.

What kind of lift are you getting with the 885s and spacer? I run the 886s (no spacer, no added weight for a year) on my 2011 DCLB. I left the sway bar in place. Never did I feel I was maxing out the travel of the struts.

Did you put in the diff drop? Once you go over 2" in lift, you really risk trashing your CVs at full extension if you haven't taken precautions to ensure you do not violate safe working geometry.

I suppose you could install a nicer unit like the Fox remote reservoirs, with a little more travel built in. All that high-speed stuff is way over my head. I'm not sure about the Gen 3, but Gen 1 A-Arms didn't have a "maximum extension". They would keep rotating down until something broke, generally the strut bottomed out or the ball joints got thrashed.

Yes i do have the diff frop in. When i first put in the lift i was a full three inches in front and rear but both have settled a little bit

Hmmmmmmm..... leads me to believe you need a strut with more (the right) travel.

I think there is/was a guy that did it, had a speedway blue, can't remember his username.

I might change out my extended 5100s for 5160s later this year once everything settles and can see how far the dakars flex.

I noticed this too, driving at speeds my 886s/nitros eat all the bumps but hitting speedbumps it sort of feels like the fronts don't want to compress on bumps low speed.

I'll still need to get a bumper to add some weight which should smooth it out.

My 885s got a lot smoother with the weight of sliders & a full set of skids.
Added 1/4" spacers to regain 1/2" of lift (lost 3/4" front & 1/2" rear) and will probably swap them for 1/2" (or maybe just add 1/8") when I get my aluminum bumper.

Hah well it wasn't a bad ride, it was a lot better with 100 pounds on the front though. Added a winch and it sagged too much, had to swap for 886s.

I don't even have the winch in the bumper yet and I'm sagging. Going to have to get spacers at some point.

I'd go ahead and swap for 886s, they are stiff as :censored: but with a bumper, winch, skids and sliders it was actually pretty good..

I'm going with a receiver mounted winch so the weight will only be up front if I'm using it & it can also be mounted on the rear.

Close to 18 months, only had the bumper and skid on there for 6 months or so.
