    So did I. That's why I got the 885s for my 4Banger.
Added a 1/4" spacer when I added sliders & skids.
Might add another when I get my aluminum bumper with reciever mounted winch so I can use it front or rear & so I'm not always carring the extra weight on my front.

I have searched and searched and I know I've seen it before...

What adjustment is everyone running with the Light Racing Upper Control arm (UCA)? Currently I have both sides set in line with the control arm. letter D- http://www.spcalignment.net/instructions/25470-INS_WEB.pdf.

I got my full OME 886's and dakar leafs installed on Saturday. And I'm heading to get an alignment this morning. I'll post some numbers and comments after I get everything fine tuned and get it up to speed.

Ok, I don't think I actually did. I think I'm dealing with Settling and uneven spots.

I tried a few times today, in 5 different locations, and I can't get a consistent reading.

    Front Left: 23.25"-24"
    Front Right: 23.25"-24"

    Rear Left: 24.75"-25"
    Rear Right: 24.25"-25"

The fronts are different in every single place I measured. Seems to be somewhere around 23.75" more consistently. The rears are 25" pretty much everywhere except my driveway (which has a small amount of slope).

Yeah, I just wish I could get a consistent reading at more than 1 location.

Of course, it also would have helped if I measured before the lift.

    Just the basics
Perusing this thread as I have made the decision to replace my stock suspension. My rear leafs are shot. I want to keep the stock UCAs. I need suggestions for purchase and installation in the LA/OC region in socal.

I currently have a flippac and load it pretty heavy when going camping/offroad/overlanding. Hopefully there will be a Four Wheel Camper in the future. I'm not looking for max lift but rather ability to carry the load.

I don't want a harsh ride up front. Sounds like some of you have a rougher ride on-road, i.e. speedbumps. Off-road is a smooth ride?

    Thanks.

Not sure what you would get as far as hight with what you have on your Taco.
My guess is 885s would get you 2" - 2.5" (I had stock UCAs on mine when it was at 3", not quite in spec for castor but it drove great). You can always add a top plat spacer if needed (after adding sliders -.25" front & rear, a full set of skids -.5" front so I added .25" spacers to regain .5" front lift)
Dakars somewhere around 2.5" - 3" (I got 3" with my shell before sliders).

You should be good with the 885s up front. I rode the 886s for a year before I got the plate bumper and skid on, and while the ride was stiffer than stock it really wasn't bad at all. The Dakars will take some real weight and your ride will still be good, a vast improvement over the stock springs.

Ok, so far the lift is installed and the alignment is complete. I now have 3 problems...
-Small vibe through the steering wheel and pedals at around 30-40 mph. Switch to 4 Hi and it's gone. I'm assuming it's some weird front angle with the bearings or CV shafts.
-I've got a popping noise at full steer, both directions. This one bothers me. Anyone experience this?
-Popping noise when going over large bumps in the front. I'm thinking this is a fully extended issue. The 886's are pretty stiff and I have no front bumper weight.
I won't have time to diagnose until Monday.

    1) could be the front diff vibe
    2) could be under torqued LCA cam bolts
    3) over speed bump goes clank

    Thanks!
I put on the front diff spacer kit. Maybe I should take it off and drive to see...

I have not re torqued everything after the install. I've driven about 10 miles so far and plan to re-torque and check everything Monday.

885s weren't harsh even on my 4Banger with no extra weight up front. Stiffer than stock but in no way harsh. Ride is even smoother after adding sliders & skids. Great ride on & off road.

-IMO the CV's shouldn't be out of spec (operating outside of designed tolerance) with 2-3" of lift.
-Popping while driving, or just steering while parked?
-Common, but I never experienced it myself.

If anything the diff spacer helps alleviate a little of the CV angle.

Popping while driving. I start slow and it's a slow pop. A little faster and it's a fast pop seems like the same spot at every rotation of the wheel...
