2013 TSB

I have a 2013 trd off road dbl cab that only has the three factory rear leafs. I feel as if toyota should have rectified any past TSBs with a 2013 model but doesn't seem to be the case unless the 13 is using thicker leafs or built a little differently. Would the 13 models qualify for the 4 leaf TSB and if so what should I tell my dealer? From what I read on here it seems that some dealers are not so easy to deal with on this.

 

My 2013 DCSB Sport has the 4 leaf springs. Mine does have the tow package.

 

Mine has the tow package as well but only 3 leafs

 

I wonder if the 3 leaf pack is associated with the Off Road?

 

sounds like it I have an OR and mine only came with 3 leafs...

 

My '13 OR with tow package only has 3 leafs as well.

 

You would think the OR would be a priority as far as hauling

 

I think from past posts the Sport comes w/ 4 leaf pak now & the OR w/ 3.
Not sure when toyota changed it ...
My 2013 OR has 3.
In the past I had the TSB done on my 2006 non-trd anything.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess I will call my dealer tomorrow and see if we could work something out, I'm putting billies up front and would like the truck to keep a slight rake. Without the tsb or an AAL I believe the truck will actually sit a tiny bit nose high with the billies at 1.75.

UPDATE: Just dropped my truck off at the dealers, the techs will check it out in the morning to make sure I qualify. The service manager acted like I was good to go as long as my truck had the standard 3 leaf configuration. I also got a loaner... a fricken Corolla... I told them I was hauling wood and the trucks ride sucked, I made sure they knew I was aware of the TSB and they acted like it was no big deal and assured me I wasn't the first customer to come back with this problem. TSB this week, 5100's this weekend, wheels and tires later this month, and a sub behind the seats whenever my box comes in the mail! This website is a blackhole that steals my money through ideas of awesomeness.

 

I didn't even know the 2012s had been added to the leaf spring TSB, much less the 2013s. Perhaps I have missed something?

 

Well whoever it was that said the TSB did not yet apply to the 13's was correct... headed there now to get rid of this gay ass clown car and grab my truck.

 

I feel your pain, brother! I've been anxious to get my 2012 done since I bought it back in April. As far as I know, right now the TSB only covers 2nd gens through 2011.

 

I have a 13 with only 3! will probably lift her with a add a leaf before this recall gets to our year.

 

That really sucks! When I had mine done someone on here recommended I call corporate, and that's what I ended up doing. I think my truck was included though. Also some suggested bringing it in loaded with it sitting on the bumpstops. There should at least be a mark where the bumpstops hit the axle. I think you have to really demonstrate a problem and bitch and moan about it. It's not something that they just do. Maybe bring it back in a week or two. I remember how disappointed I was when I got shot down the first time. I had to complain nicely the next time I brought it in before it was finally done. One other factor is which dealer you go to.There used to be a thread of which dealers did the work. You should still be able to find it.

Hey cmoulton its me again in Columbus. What dealer did you go to here? I was trying to go get the tsb also, but if you were declined at Jay toyota then i was going to forget about it.

 

I just upgraded to a 2013 Tss editon/pkg.. Im a tech for a local dealer (non toyota) and have access to ALLDATA which is a huge repair library and list all TSB's and repair info for all makes and models, I looked up the the 2013 tacoma today and no mention of the Leaf TSB only mention floor mats and talked about the gas pedal
