Marc, did you have to remove your bed for installation? Or just cover everything up with a fire blanket and giver?

    Thanks

Good to know. I was a little worried about the gas tank as well but I'm sure I won't have issues.
    Thanks

How do you guys know your getting full use if the shock? I guess my question is when do you first tack everything in place, full droop? How'd you find out fool droop and bump before mounting?

hey are all u guys running limit straps? or are your springs still the limiting droop factor? just trying to get an idea if I need to run em or not. I got allpro 3" springs, king 2.0 12", and bamfs shock tower kit on order, its goin on a 2nd gen. just trying to get all the pieces of the puzzle together. and if you are running straps what length?

^this. if you are going to do something custom you need to do this. It's not that hard if you've got the time. Also depends on the axle shock mount position... Though you are using the bamf kit each truck is different and can benefit from cycling to get your setup correct.

Works great, really got the back end working as it should. Now i just need to move the rear shackle hangar forward and it will really be where it should!

Those Ford towers are a nice cheap way to handle the upper mounts. I used those same towers on my '93 SAS truck with really good luck.

Update: My setup is still working great a year later.

Yup! Price was one reason why i went with them, the other was i wanted to pay homage to the oldschool days of toyota wheeling and reading build threads on pirate. The goal then was to do it as cheap as possible using stuff you found in a junkyard, kind of a departure to the builds of today. Saying that i have a $35 ford f-150 tank waiting to go in the taco soon, another old school mod!

Can anyone speak up...I'm running this with the AP Expo Pack which has 11"-11 1/2" of travel...pack was broken down and tested, 12" shock has plenty of travel for the leafs....I think you'll be fine, but might have to much shock for those springs.

Anyone know if the standard springs have the same main leaf as the expo springs?

Very nice, looks like you ran your crossmember pretty much inline with the original location of the driver side upper shock mount, correct?

Yes. The new crossmember is welded in directly above the factory location of the driverside upper shock mount.
