Lift question

I want to buy a 3" lift. I have researched that I should go with adjustable Bilsteins. Looking at the Toytec website, I see several different packages for Bilsteins ranging greatly in price. I'd like to go with the $350 package, but I think I'll need an AAL for the back end, is that correct? If so, that puts the price up there a little higher than I'd like.

Also, I kept the winch off my old truck. Now I just need a bumper. Will these shocks (the cheaper Bilsteins) support the weight of a bumper and winch?

You need an AAL or a block for the rear if you lift the front. It's not the shock that supports the weight it's the springs.

 

I've been looking at the same thing. From what I can tell the cheapest way to get a decent lift is with Bilstein 5100 + AAL.

are what I have been looking at. The total would be just under $500. With this setup is there any reason to need coilovers if I am only wanting to lift up to 2-2.5"? It seems like the only reason to get coilovers is to lift 3" or greater.

Also, would the 5100s and toytec AAL give a level lift?
