It is my understanding that . . .

"if you dont lift much, like 2" or so, you dont need to worry about a lot of that stuff...youll end up running a 33" tire at the largest, regearing isn't anything to be concerned with, joints and such will be fine, steering components and everything else will do just fine for many years.

going higher than 2.5" begins to invite busted front end parts, and anything larger than about 33" drives noticeably different."

Would you taco buffs agree with this?

I want to lift mine 2.0-2.5 inches with coil overs and a full leaf pack.

    Questions:

1.If I only do it 2.0" will I still wear out my cv joints?

2.Lift kit opinions, all pro, toytec, etc?

3.What are some good 33" tires for hwy and mod off road.

    4. Does a 2" lift really only increase your truck height by 2"? Tires add some too i would think.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I could be wrong as it happens to me often but based on all the different people I've talked to you will need nearly the full 3inches of lift to clear 33's without rubbing. This is coming from the guys at ICON, King, Downsouth and others.

Yea generally its a safe bet to say you'll need 3" plus some trimming to fit 33" tires. I wouldn't say the lift shortens the life span of the truck but it will subject certain components to premature wear. Toytec or OME are good but still affordable options. Lots of tire choices. BFG ATs are very popular. I love my Duratracs theyre a more aggressive AT tire buy have done just fine on the highway.
