Question for the more advanced...

How do you know when or if you ever need to replace your UCAs? I have had some fun on trails in Mexico but nothing too rough. I know My coils are a little worn and wanted to upgrade any way so I have purchased the Toytec ultimate lift kit. I do not plan to go any higher than the preset 2.5", will I need to get new UCAs anyway?

Gen 1 at 2.5" most likely you won't need aftermarket UCA's. Gen 2 you would.

Thanks for the reply! From what I have seen, most people have gone with after market. Does it really make that big of a difference?

There are two main reasons for aftermarket UCAs

1) Getting alignment caster back in spec. The higher you lift the truck, the harder it is to get respectable caster numbers. Aftermarket UCA's change the angle of dangle.
2) Ditching factory ball joints and going with uniball to aid in more travel. The factory ball joints will bind if you go with an extended shaft (mid travel coilover) setup.
