OME vs Bilstien 5100

    Looking for a front end lift, I'm using the TSB/AAL in back.

    Definatley want coilovers. Looking at the Old Man Emu 885 coils & shocks, thier spec says it only lifts 1 3/4". I called a shop in CA who recommends going with the Bilstien 5100's adjustables @ 2 1/2 with the stock coils for a better ride, over the OME. They sell both.

    Tried to reach OME a few times over the past couple of weeks to clarify the hieght @ 888-907-4625, & left several messages, no return calls. Sent them 3 emails also, no replys.

    Any feedback?

    Your best bet is to call toytec lifts ( ) -- They'll be able to help you out with OME and Billy questions.

    I'd go OME coils and an OME shock in the front -- it's a 3" lift... and then put OME shocks in the rear. :thumbsup:

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    That lift info for the OME springs is old info. They give 3" lift, give or take a little. Mine were 3.25" right after install, and they have since settled to 3". OME has assured me that their springs are rated to give 2.5" to 3" lift, and the springs are scragged to reduce settling. The 5100's preload the existing springs, where as the OME springs are a longer spring with a 50# increase in spring rate (540# vs. 590#). The OME shocks are a low pressure nitrogen filled twin tube shock. They hold more oil than the 5100's, thus will stay cooler longer. The lower pressure will make them more compliant (from what I have read), and less likley to leak.

    I'm in the same situation. Chris 4X4 helped me see the light! I'm getting the OME's. That seems to be the consencious of the board.

    Additionally, where do you guys stand on the OME rear shock & OME AAL?

    It seems I have seen some good OME pkg deals online.

    OME rear shocks are fantastic. :thumbsup: I have the Alcan AAL and it does the job -- I think most of the AALs will be the same exact thing... :D

    and I've never heard of an OME AAL... hmm...
