Cranking Pro Comp Coilovers... I need options

Aloha everyone

I have been sitting on this problem for a few months now. I have the 6 inch mx-6 lift that Pro Comp offers and i never messed with the factory settings. I am looking for a bit more height and it looks like i can crank the coil springs about another inch / inch and a half.

Problem 1. ---- after talking to both pro comp and 4 wheel part i was informed that in order to crank the Coilover i need to take it to an auto shop because its a total bitch to do it with any kind of wrench due to the pressure load on the spring and that im increasing the load.

Any other options? Any ideas on how i can do it myself? Id like to save the several hundred dollars id spend at 4wheelparts. I already went to Oreillys and their spring compressor doesn't fit on the Pro Comp fatty spring.

Problem 2. ---- The rear end will sag after making the change in the front. What is my next plan of attack? Do i go with a bigger block or add another add-a-leaf under or on-top of the pro comp add-a-leaf? or should i just do both? I want my rear end height anywhere from a 1/2 inch to close to an inch higher than the front.

I know u guys are gunna say call hawaii spring or Alcan or whoever else makes springs and put a leaf pack on her but unfortunately its not in my budget and building the rear end is just too easy right now.

Only issue with cranking them down to get 7-8 inches would be CV angles and a rougher ride because of more preload on the springs. Should be able to do it yourself with a spanner wrench.

I bumped up the preload on my fabtech coil overs because my ass end was a mile high compared to the front....now a year later my rear is sagging and the front is high lol

 

The guy i spoke to with Pro Comp said its hard as hell to do but i guess ill just have to try it. And the guy i spoke with at 4wheel parts said my CV angles were somehow super good right now that i could get away with another inch. but probably not more than that. I guess ill just go get a spanner wrench and try it.
