Give Me Your 2 Cents - Please

I have a 2010 TRD Sport DCLB.
As it stands it has King OEM Performance shocks with adjustable remote reservoirs all the way around, TSB rear leaf springs and Light Racing UCA’s. According to Sonny at Downsouth Motor Sports the front Kings are set from the factory at 2”, 2 ¼” of ride height on 650lb spring rate coils. The vehicle attitude is slightly nose low.

I know that my next step is to measure from center line of the wheel hubs to the edge of the fender wheel well opening to determine the height difference front left to right and front to back before I can set the coil adjusters to level the vehicle.

If I remember correctly (and I will confirm) a King rep said that roughly 4 turns of the adjusting collar will raise the ride height by approximately 1”.

I will soon be ordering front and rear Fab Fours plate bumpers. The front weighing @140lbs + 70lbs for the winch and the rear with a tire carrier @125lbs. I called and asked Kings if I should change the 650lb coils for 700lb coils and they thought not.

Additional weight load in full 5 skids front to rear including gas tank.

So I’m thinking I want to install Dakar rear leafs which advertise 2 ¾” of lift (http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-7251)

My question to the suspension gurus lurking on TW is, does this thinking sound logical or do you see any flaws? Do you think the 650lb coils jacked for another 1” or so will ride okay or should I up them to 700lbers?

I would be interested in hearing from anyone with the same setup, or a variation of it. Any and all advise is welcome – just not necessarily adopted.

1" of preload is nothing to worry about, if it rides too rough swap to 700 lb coils or a 1" taller 650 lb coil.
