Cv boot mod!

Iv seen the write up for the cv boot slide mod and wondered could it be simpler???

I thought could u just cut the existing metal band off the small side of the boot slide the boot to the desired length on the shaft u want it. And take a hose clamp and clamp it back on to the perfect spot and be done?

Could it be that simple?
Has anyone done this? Looking for answeres
Any help would be great.

i havent, but i have read the thread for it, and i am pretty familiar with cvs and what-not, its going to be easy

 

Any body have any good ideas one what sort of clamps I should buy to do this mod? I don't wana use just regular hose clamps cuzbim affairs they might losen up with spining around so much all the time. And the hold by like three threads on the screw! Want somthing sturdy! Any ideas??

 

You can read through the thread and that OP used common hose clamps, he updated every once in a while and I think that after 6 months everything was fine!
