Need new shocks!! Can't decide!

Ok..... snapped my rear billies last weekend wheeling so gonna take this opportunity to upgrade a bit.

Two choices are:
1. ICON reservoirs for $480
2. Extended billies 5100 (F4-BE5-B110-T5) for $190 and save up for a powertrax no-slip rear diff

(Currently running a Toytech ultimate with AAL and mostly offroad rocks and hills.)

 

Also, would my current setup in the rear allow me to take full advantage of the flex that the ICONs are capable of?

 

I have the 5100s. no complaints.

 

How much you had to tweak your bumps?

 

What about the 5150's?

 

I'm just going by what the toytech rep recommended: the two listed above and some OME's. never looked into the 5150s

 

I think I would go billies and locker. Really, for what we do, you would never use the remote reservoirs to their full potential.

Edit: Now that I think about it, unless the compressed length of the extended billies are shorter than the ones that were already on it, then the extended ones will break just like the other ones. The real solution to the problem is taller bumpstops or maybe even hydraulic bumpstops so that it can still get most of its flex but has something to slow it down before it snaps the shock shaft again.
