Personally, I'll take the .25" less of a lift for a proper ride with no spacers (except lean fix). I dont think people will be tape measuring your lift when they see it.
I dont like the idea of spacers, seen alot of threads saying negative things about them.

The negative comments about spacers are about spacer lifts. A 1/4" or 1/2" spacer wont cause the shock to bottom out. a 3" top plate spacer lift however will cause the shock to reach full compresion before the bump stops hit. So the shock is what limits uptravel and thats why people break shocks offroading with spacers lifts.
