    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

With everyone’s help, we completely installed my Front & Rear suspension lift & UCA on my 08 Tacoma, TRD, 4X4. Those in attendance: Chris 4X4, Brain R, PackerfanXD, & Tightshirts. We had a SEAMLESS install that took just over 5 ½ hours. It was a casual pace, moderate BS’ing, & all around good time. Thanks to ALL! Tightshirts will be posting a kickass HD 1080P video & pics shortly, with a detailed write-up.

I achieved a 3 1/8” increase in front & 2 ¼ in back (in addition to the rear TSB I had done last week).
The average person probably would not notice a difference in the ride. It has a little more of a "firm" feel to it, definatley not "stiff". You can feel the smaller bumps a little more, but the bigger bumps smoooothlikebutter.

    This is what we installed:

    TOYTEC 303-255-4959
    OME N140S Front shocks $289.99
OME Rear Extended length shocks $169.99
    OME 885 Coils $169.99
    Toytec TSB AAL’S $79.99
    OME Trim Packer $7.99
    Discount ($57.45)
    Shipping $45.00
    Total $707.05

    Downsouth Motorsports 888-973-6967
    Total Chaos UCA $630.
    Free Shipping

    Toyota Off-Road Parts, Shannon 800-327-2087

See diagram below for FRONT COILOVER: 2 EACH; FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION RETAINER (TOP)
2 EACH; FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION NUMBER 1
2 EACH; FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB ASSEMBLY
2 EACH; FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION RETAINER (BOTTOM)
Aprox $165.00 for the above items

    LOCAL SHOP LABOR:
    Assembly of Coilovers (Labor), $85.00

The items from Toytec & Downsouth were items needed for the lift & UCA. The Old Man Emu front parts only come with the shocks & coils, bought separately. You need to build the Old Man Emu front coilovers one of two ways.

An option you have to negate the Toyota Off-Road Parts items, would be to remove the existing coilovers, then run them down to a shop & have them torn apart & utilize parts to build your new OME coilovers. You will still have a shop charge. Actually some supply houses offer this service for $200 +.

The upside of doing this is: 1) You have a totally new front coilovers installed on your vehicle. 2) You have a complete set of ORIGINAL coilovers you could sell for much more to help recoup $$. The downside to not doing pre-built coilovers is TIME. It will take a minimum of 2 hours of driving, finding a place, the actual demo/building process, returning, etc… If you are not rushing & need to save $$, this will work. You probably need to call ahead to a shop to ensure they can accommodate your change-out.

Big thanks to Chris4X4 for all the preliminary assistance.

LOL. everyone gave a hand. I did the technical stuff. Tightshirts videoed, and took photos, Brianr and Rpoint16 helped take things off, and putt things back on, as well as looked to make sure nothing was going to get broken when removeing the UCA bolt. Oh...And Brian held a light....in the wrong spot...... at all times. :)
