    Hello Forum,

I have an '08 Prerunner DCSB 4.0 Auto with the current set up:

Front: Billstein set @ 1.75 with 1/4" taco lean spacer & OE coils.
Rear:: Billstein with 3/1 leafs from a 2012 DCSB Sport & Wheelers 3 leaf AAL with OE overload leaf left in.

I was thinking of setting the front Billies @ 2.5 but I'm sure the ride will be more harsh since I am further compressing the OE coil springs.

If I set the Billies @ "0" & go with the OME coils from ToyTec, should I go with 884's or 885's?

Also, will I need to replace my upper control arms or can I stay factory on those since I won't be @ or higher than 3".

I will not use the plate spacer that comes with them since I already have the 1/4" taco lean spacer installed. Thats too many spacers.

    Let me know folks,
    Thanks
    :D

interested in this too.. i have pretty much the same set up except an icon 3 leaf AAL and i removed the factory overload spring.

from what i understand 5100's set at 0 and 885's will give you 'about' 2.5 inches of lift which from what i've read is the cut off for needing or not needing UCAs. you could probably do it with factory control arms as long as everything with the alignment goes well.

You are probably gonna want new UCAs if you step up to the 885s.

I had the 884s on my DC/LB with no need to do UCAs.. Added in the 13mm top plate and added in UCAs, The 885s are 10mm longer than the 884s, so would be very similar to what I have now.

If you want 3", then bite the bullet and get 885s and UCAs.. If you want to slow the inevitable (like I did), get the 884s, then later you can get the 10 or 13mm top plate, and the UCAs.
I would buy the top plate now though and install the longer bolts so you don't need to dismantle the assembly to put on the top plate later on.

The 885 coils will put you at about 2.5" of lift. UCAs are not required, but your caster will be a bit on the low side.

Thanks for the replys so far. I'm not looking to get 3"'s of lift. I wanted to move the Billsteins to the 2.5 setting but due to the stiff ride that will most likely result I want to replace the front coils. My DCSB does not have any extra accessories in the front (bull bar, winch, All-pro steel bumper) etc. I'm looking to get 2.5 without further sacrificing ride.

    YotaDan,
With the 885 (not 884) & no coil spacers you say that I'll be at 2.5 with the caster on the low side & not need UCA's which is what I am aiming for. Fir the rear I'll put a 1" steel block if I have to so that it still has a slight rake to it. 1" block shouldn't be an issue. Do you sell both of these?

I have purchased items from your company before. My 3 Leaf AAL & something else (can't remember now) but I never set up an account. Is there a discount for setting up an account & being a TW member?

    :)

I was just convinced to go spindles, yeah its more lift than what i wanted.. but that just means more clearance, but the ride is better than 885's and you can always add other suspension components later.

I jus put 885's w/90000 shocks on my dbl cab lb and brought mine up over 3 inches. Fortunately they got the alignment in spec but likely close to max out and I'll have to change the uca's

Did you use a top plate spacer? I did the exact same setup with a top plate spacer and I received exactly 3 inches of lift on my 2013 DCSB.

    WOW!
    Over 3'"s on coils alone?!?!
    I just want 2.5"'s
Maybe I should go with the 884's?

Is this measurement from immediately after the install ?

What is your hub to fender measurement ?

Well that makes more sense , the suspension needs to cycle a bit to settle into it's proper position

2" is pretty normal with 884's

I have the 5100's set at zero with 885 coils with the 1/4 spacer on drivers side, 1 1/2 inch blocks on the back and I sit perfectly level. Almost dead 2.5 inches lift up front. Also have Total Chaos uppers.

    OZ-T,

    I read a thread titled:
"Anyone buy/install OME 885 coils recently?"

    & you wrote:
"I installed the new 885x coils without a top spacer and got 2 1/2" after settling on my DCLB 4x4.

That's exactly what I want, 2.5. I know I can just move the 5100's from 1.75 to 2.5 but I prefer a better ride. How long did it take for your springs to settle?
