OK, so I bought this truck with the 6" pro comp and with 35's and 20" rims. Looks great, rides great, but if I hit a bump good enough, it rubs the fenders. I also wanted to be able to take this offroad and enjoy the 4x4, but with it rubbing on the street, there's no way it would be able to handle anything off road. I've been to 4wheelparts here in vegas, as well as a couple of other local shops which seem to tell me there's nothing I can do but get smaller tires or cut the fenders a little more. ??? One mentioned a body lift, one mentioned procomp coilovers, and one mentioned cutting the fenders where they rub a little more than they currently are cut....

Im not sure what the best way is, so maybe you guys can help me out on where to go here in town, or what I should be looking to do. I also read the threads here, but really I have no idea what you guys are talking about with all the abbreviations and suspension talk.

Anyone in from here in vegas as knows what exactly I need to do to make it worthy of at least an average trail?

From the last you can see what needs to be done. Cut more of the fender flare and I would go ahead and cut and beat back your pinch weld as well. That's the thing about 35's gotta cut and use a BFH to make them fit.

Look at the cab mount :smack:

What about all the talk about coilovers, uca/lca and and all that? I heard that procomp is more for a street lift than offroad. body lift? Will it be able to handle an average trail?

Your setup now can handle the 'average' trail and then some. Personally I would cut your flares more and beat back your pinch weld first. If it solves the problem good it was free and just took alittle time. If it doesn't work then maybe look at some other options.

The coilovers and other things are just to add more lift to the front end, your suspension will still cycle the same and you will still rub once you compress the suspension. And I would highly recommend staying away from bodylifts.

Came across this taco tonight. Looks like it had almost the same setup, shocks looked a little different.. maybe bilstien? But he did not have anything trimmed, and his tires were 35x12.5x18's -- waited for him to come out to speak to him about it, but he never came and I had to go.

I like that fender, but it says "These fenders fit on 12′ and 13′ trucks with an aftermarket front bumper."

Not ready for new bumper yet, maybe if/when mine gets damaged, or if there's a really good deal I just can't pass up.

I believe different UCA will actually move everything back causing more rubbing. But it may be fix able with a good alignment guy. Some one correct me if I'm wrong. As far as new struts I don't think it would help what your trying to fix. I think your going to have to do some chopping and get out the big hammer.

It does not say it won't fit factory bumper. I wonder what the difference is?

Oh yeah....the 35's fit great if you never take it off road. :D By the way, what's the width on your tires 'cause they stick out a lot more than mine & I have a 1.25" spacer added.

And here is my fender trim compared to yours......notice that the colored part of the fender has been cut along with the black inner fender behind it......including the area where that Phillips head screw is located.

Ok. Just to clarify... I saw another taco today with the same lift and 35's. No cutting or anything. But his front end was sitting a few inches higher than mine. Mine is lower in the front then the back. Only think that I noticed is that he had the bilstein shocks. So what do I need to do to get my front end to match my rear? Coilovers? Something else?
