Those of you with OME 4X4 Lift

Just curious, those of you with a 2nd gen running OME 885's w/ the N140s shocks. What was the original increase in lift & what did it settle to?

Initial lift was 3.25", settled to 3" (2007, quad cab Prerunner)

how come on the toytec site it says provides 1.75 inches of lift? cause i was lookin to replace my spacers with these but want a full 3 inches

I'm pretty much sold on this kit. It's just a toss up currently if I want the 884 or 885 front coils (I have an AC) and either way I'll be getting the OME shocks as well. I come from the sport compact world and I know full well the value of upgrading shock at the same time as coils.

I have however been eyeballing ToyTec's "Ultimate Tacoma Lift kit" with the front coilovers, etc. I priced out their basic lift kit, then added front and rear shocks, differential drop kit, sway relocation kit, etc. and the "ultimate" kit was really only $200-$300 more expensive after that. At ~$1100 it's one hell of a steal. Hell, a decent set of coilovers for my Protege are going to run me ~$2000!

Either way, it's going to be a bit before I get the lift. I only have 350 miles on the truck, LOL! That and I'll need to get some better wheels and at least some 265/75R16 tires.

The thing is, I was told by OME a couple of years ago, that their springs were redesigned so they wont sag, and will keep the advertised lift height. My OME springs have given 3" lift, after settling in. Within 1 week of installing Rpoint16's OME springs and shocks (same exact set up Im running), his springs have sagged more than an inch. I think he got a bad spring pair, but OME is now telling him, thats what they give for a lift.....

I called Toytec to order my AAL & didn't know they even sold OME products. I asked specifically before I ordered & the said 2 1/2" of lift. When I called back again last week to find out about the sag, derrick still stated to expect 2 1/2". He then called OME & they said only 2" for 4X4's.

I guess with the 4X2 they have more of a lift because of the difference in weight. The OME's actually ride awesome! But I need more of a lift. I just recieved my top plates in today. I'll probably install them tomorrow. If I can get 2 1/2 total that should be ok.

Got the heavy up front because I want the the ARB bumper w/winch. 37 1/2" up front and 39" in the back. Running 265/75 16's and about to switch to 255/85 16's.

It's going to be at least a month before I get any new tires? But this is what a friend told me when I started looking at new tires....

"I am running BFG Mud Terrains in 255/85/16

They are a really good fit on the truck. They are as tall as the 285/75/16s but not as wide so much much much less rubbing problems. They are less $$ too. I prefer them over the 285s I had."
