CV Axle Dealer Price

    I have a torn driver side inner CV boot. I am calling around getting prices to do boot repairs (150-200) and prices for a new axle and doing the swap myself. How can the dealer just quote me over $400 for a new CV axle and Advance has one with a "lifetime warranty" for like $129? Is the quality of the Toyota CV axle that superior?

    Yes. The lifetime axles are cheap metals - weaker and sloppier than the OEM.

    Google CVJ Axles...They rebuild OEM units for less money than new from the dealer...
