BS 3in Spacer lift in front and blocks in back that i need to get rid of.
I have been doing some research. I recently bought a 08 Reg Cab 4x4 with one of those spacer leveling kits. I want to swap that out for some Bilstein 5100s and OME 885's. I have read on some threads that running the 5100s and aftermarket springs puts a lot of tension the suspension. Is it better to just run the 5100s and adjust those to either 1.75/2.5 with the stock springs?

    Thanks in advance

The 5100s were designed to work with stock springs. That being said, there are MANY out there running the 5100s with OME coils without problems, and who would prefer to let the spring do the lifting instead of the shock. The non preloaded OME coils will likely give you the better ride.

08 Reg Cab 4x4 with 5100's and 885 may give you so much lift it will cause some problems with your 4x4. 884's might be better for you.

The OME Coils work great with the Bilsteins. For your truck, you may want to go with the 884 coils though (especially if a 4 cyl), to avoid excessive lift, and stiff ride.

what are the differences between 884 and 885s?

884s are for single cabs/access cabs

885s are for double cabs or single cabs with a heavy plate bumper

Any I idea what kind of lift these to springs give? I am getting the 885 with 5100 installed tomorrow. I want the closest to 3" without going over. I was going to set the fronts at .85 but now I think it might be too high. I'm doing 2"AAL and 5100 rear.

    None yet, brand new!
Curious what you ended up setting your 5100's at and how much lift you saw in the front? Thanks

885 with blistein up front gave me 2.5 in. lift after they settled.
2 in AAL in the rear leveled my truck.
    rides nice, handles good.

Same set up except for a 1.5 AAL instead. Level truck good ride. Could be a bit smoother but still a good ride. Handles really well.

I just did this set up, and I'm not experiencing any vibrations. The only thing I've noticed is a VERY slight shudder when launching (7-10 mph) but that's it. Every truck is different though.
