So I was apparently wrong on my thought of standard and extended coilovers. I believed the standard just replaced the stock shocks but they do give a 0-3" lift(speaking of Icon coilovers specifically).

Given I know this information now do one or the other give different ride characteristics? Since the standard is a "shorter" coil over does it have more preload to give it the 3" travel or do they function basically the same when it comes to a lift vs the actual travel of the coil over?

I am not going to be doing any extreme off roading so I don't think I would need the extended coil overs but just more interested in the different suspension characteristics i.e. would the extended be a softer DD ride or harsher?

I realize you can adjust the setting on some of the coil overs.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Grant
