Ended up going with a mid travel 3" lift set up...

    :anonymous: :anonymous: :anonymous:

    Here's the thread though:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Im thinking of buying the 4" DB lift kit from Rough Country - anyone know of a member with one of these? Price is atypically low compared to others so I am a bit weary.

These are my thoughts on what I would do with it long term:
(these kinda apply to other similar DB kits as well...)

    Current Suspension Thoughts
    Rear (total lift 4")
    Custom leaf pack (+4")
Icon or King shocks, length appropriate for +4 over stock
    KCarrier bearing shims
    KShock Brackets
    KBrake line brackets
(not used - 2" fabricated lift blocks, Rough Country N2.0 Series Shocks)

    Front (total lift 6")
Icons or Kings, adjusted to +2"
    KExtended spindles
    KStrut Spacer
    KDB Lift brackets
    KDiff drop
    KSway bar relocation
    KBrake line brackets

Upgrades for later (total lift 6")
    Brake lines all around

    "K" Denotes Components from Kit
    Rough Country SKU 746.20
4in Toyota Tacoma Suspension lift Kit
(6in kit only differs in spacer height)

I found this thread had a good discussion about quality of the RC lift, as well as the typical DB lift bashing.

O think all drop brackets are the same, they all suck. Get the spacers first if you are worried about cost. Then get custom kings or icons later.

That's kinda my plan...go to 4" DB with nominally stock angles from the current 3" spacer lift I have which I really need a UCA to run, then later I can put better coilovers and get some GC increase, and now that I think about it, I wouldn't even really need a UCA if I keep the coilover lift to 2".

This is regardless of maker of the DB...although I think only RCD and RC offer a 4" option...

I vote custom rear leaf pack instead of adding blocks.

Hmm interesting...I like...although that makes my initial dakar purchase unnecessary. I think if I go that route I would go on and get the coilovers now.

Prolly dont like the look enough to shell out those dollars. Im going to edit the OP with those changes.

Yup, eventually I'll get a new leaf pack and get rid of this 3 inch block. Not that I have any problems with it. Just don't like the look
