So I did what a lot of people have done on here, I got the old man emu coils and bilstein 5100 shocks. Why do people go with the 5100 bilsteins instead of the old man emu nitro chargers that are made for the ome coil springs? My truck rides so rough. And Reading around the forums it seems like the bilsteins don't have enough downward travel. And seems to me like the 5100's were made for progressive coil springs. Old man emu's are non progressive? Could someone shed some light on this for me?

What setting did you set your 5100s also what coils did you get sounds like you
    a) set the 5100s to height
    b) got to heavy of a spring

People usually match the OME coils to the nitrochargers and match the 5100's with toytec's coils

I have it set at 0 with 881's. It feels like its bottoming out when I hit a rough bump. I'm considering going to the nitro chargers. Does anybody run a similar set up (881's and nitro chargers)?

And if you read on down souths website it says the 5100's were designed to run with stock oem springs

Weird... From what i have seen in the past (No first hand experience) So take this for what its for... But The OME ride rougher then the 5100's. Post up a picture of the whole coilover mounted on your truck

You can run them with other springs so you don't get as much preload as you would with OEM Springs

Other then that best thing i can say is try it out with OME Shocks .. But everyone has diffrent idea of what the ride should feel like

as you should be. 1st gens would get too much lift from those coils on anything but

you're not the first. a bunch of people mixed and matched 5100s/OME coils and ended up with a little stiffer ride. some people were fine with it, some people didn't mind

lots of people run the full ome setup without problems though

they were, since the snap ring setup is "supposed" to let you reuse OEM coils for a cheap level

    None yet, brand new!
How much lift did you get with that setup? 5100's set at 0 and 885 or 884 OME springs. Thanks

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I have the 885s and the OME nitros and with my ARB bumper and winch it rides butter-smooth. I mean it's damn amazing. The sweet deal for on-road and off-road nirvana. Best ride I have ever experienced in any 4x4.

Those OME shocks are great, really have low fade-off in pretty heavy usage, then smooth as silk on the freeway.

    Oh yeah!!!
