DCLB Icon 3 leaf / 5100s / OME 884s

I decided I wanted to take my DCLB up two inches on a budget.

I bought 884s from DSM because of free shipping $189.99

I decided on the Icon 3 Leaf Progressive Add a leaf. I have TSB spring, and left the overload in. Again I ordered from DSM because of free shipping. $214.95

Wheelers off-road was a ton of help answering questions, so I decided to buy my Bilstiens 5100s and 1/4 spacer (for taco lean) from them. They gave me a great competitive price, just call them.

OME Driveline Carrier Bearing Drop Kit $12.35 + $7.00 shipping Had vibes 65-70 mph, now they're gone after installing this kit.

I also threw a set of Hankook Dynapro ATMs on in 265/70/17.
My initial thought is that the trucks looks way better. The ride is pleasantly ever so slightly stiffer than stock. It feels great, and I would reccomend it to anyone.

I agree. In order to avoid the look of "bro lean" I figure the rear needs to be about 1 inch higher than the front.

Yes the 5100s are at 0. Its not a good idea to preload OME springs.

The shop that did the work charged $287 for everything. It took them about four hours. The assembly was part of that.

This is pretty much exactly what I would like to do with my truck. Not too much lift, but enough that it is noticeable. Would you say the truck would be able to handle a little more weight in the bed without so much squat right away? I had my truck loaded up with a single row of split firewood, and the rest of the bed was taken up by misc. fishing gear; not positive on the weight, but not where near max payload. I also had a pretty full rear seat as well;right rear folded down, with a few backpacks, a duffel and 3 sleeping bags. The truck was squatted pretttttyyy good in the rear. My truck is a '13 dcsb with the 3+1 leaf, just for comparison

 

Also, do you think that the Wheelers HD three leaf AAL would do the same as the icon? its less money an i dont have the TSB springs so i figured maybe it would make up the diference?

I didn't take the overload out, so I would say yes it handles more load. I have a 160 lbs cap, I was towing my 1600 lbs popup with no sag today.

Ive heard nothing but good things about the wheelers HD. With shipping to VT the price was a little more.

 

do you know if it would make up the difference though? i only have the three leaf pack, the AAL would bring it to 6, and i do plan on a shell at some point....
