I have a 2007 toyota tacoma sport I have noticed while going through the dips in town the rear feels soft as if its hitting the bump stops. I also hauled a load of steel couple months ago and noticed a light load of steel had it bottomed out. would new shocks help this? or would it require new rear leafs? looking for a cheap route to fix this with out braking the bank at the moment. trucks stock

New leafs are needed, but an AAL would help some.

What is the AAL?also what leaf packs would you recommend going with? Not looking for anything for off road only hit the dirt occasionally looking to keep it as a nice commuter

Can I install bilstien 5100 on the read only? Or will this raise the truck? I like the height of the rear right now at stock.

Installing new shocks in the rear will not help your bottoming out issue, and they also won't affect ride height. New shocks will only change the overall ride, you need to make changes to the leaf springs to cure the harsh ride(bottoming out), whether it be an AAL or an entire new leaf pack.

I would suggest reading through this, to get familiar with suspension components: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/11282-tacoma-lift-faq-guide-read.html
