Question What's the correct wheel/tire combo?

Hello,
I am about to have a 3" Revtec lift kit installed on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma 4-door 4WD TRD truck.
The shop that is doing the installation is saying that 285/70 R17 BFG Mud T/A tires on 17 x 9 Eagle 079 chrome rims will work with the 3" Revtec lift kit.
My question is this...
Is this the correct combo to run with or am I making a mistake with this size wheel/tire combo with the 3" lift?
Please help me out since I am stressing about getting the perfect look without the problems.
Thank a lot!

i couldn't find that wheel in anything other than a 20" but a 285/70/17 is a good combo.
just a little trimming and removing your mudflaps. if the rim has a backspacing greater than a 5". you can use a spacer.

I have the 3" revtec and im running 285/65/18 = 32.56
275/70/17 = 32.70
you may have some trimming depending on your back spacing of your rim.
I removed my flaps and only have rubbing when turned fully! So not a bad combo at all. A little trimming may be requierd.

Question To sum it up...

Everyone is telling me that 17 x 9's with 285/70 R17 BFG Mud T/As will be OK and give me that aggressive look with just minimal trimming of the front fender lip?
What about rubbing when the steering is locked left or right?
What is the correct backspacing of the wheel to prevent problems?
What is the backspacing on the stock 16x8 wheels? 5 on 5.5?
Here's the link to the wheel I am going to run:
http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=366#
It's funny how the site only lists the wheel in a 20" when it comes in other sizes like 17 x 9. Anyway, let me know what you still think. Your opinions are helping a lot!
Thanks, Tom
