I just got my new Alcan leaf pack from wheelers and am hoping to install it as soon as possible. I had heard that people had trouble removing their main eye bolts and had to cut them from the truck with a sawsall or such tool, so I ordered new bolts from wheelers just as a precaution. I just went through everything they sent but I don't see any eye bolts. I'm wondering if any 2nd genners have had to cut away their bolts or is this really only a 1st gen issue?

I just replaced my leafs last weekend and I have to say, those suckers were tight! It took a lot of work to get the bolts out but with some pb blaster and use of leverage we were able to get them out unharmed.

alright thanks! I work near an aircraft maintenance hangar so we'll be using every damn tool to our advantage. I just don't want to get everything up and be stuck without a truck til i can get new bolts.

in an effort to make this thread last past one response that answered my question... does anyone know what grade of bolt I would need if I were to just look in a hardware store?

Thanks again for the help Robby, I would be a little wary if someone with a 2013 had responded but I imagine your truck has seen a good number of miles like mine

No problem man. I had about 83k on those leafs so they have definitely seen a few miles. Good luck!
