Hey guys, Kinda in a delimma. Im working on purchasing a used set of king remote res (rears) and an AAL. What would you rather have nice shocks and a AAL or Dakars and Billies? Both will cost me about the same.

    Thanks

I would go with the kings. they will ride better than the billies.

Gotcha, does anyone know if the Kings can be rebuilt down the road to accomodate a Dakar leaf pack or similar brand? From my undestanding they are only good for 1.5" of lift in the rear.

Depends on what you do with the truck. If you carry heavy loads frequently, I'd go with the Dakars and OME shocks, if you do a lot of high speed runs where the shock would be repeatedly cycled very quickly, then go with remote resi's. If you're just road driving, there's really no reason for paying extra for a remote reservior shock over the non resi version of the same shock. You won't cycle the shock fast enough to make it a worth while upgrade.

They can be rebuilt but you are looking at new rear shocks or modifying the leaf pack to fit your needs.

Right, I understand they are rebuildable. But just wasnt sure if they could be modified for use with a new leaf pack over 1.5". Hmmmm it will actually be cheaper for me to buy the remote res, than to buy brnad new billies and dakars. And my rig is 80% On Road and 20% off (hunting/camping/fishing). Decisions Decisions...

Thanks for the help so far gents.
